大步“走出去” 的外研社

FLTRP was one of the earliest Chinese houses to observe the rise of Chinese publishing. Its Chinese publishing division, set up in 2003, now has 30-plus editors. Many of them are fluent in a foreign language besides their specialty in Chinese. A strategic plan was made in early 2005 for Chinese publishing. The goal is to publish 2,000 titles in 15 categories in 10 years, with an average annual investment of 10 million yuan.
In Chinese publishing, as well as in foreign language publishing, FLTRP strongly emphasizes international cooperation. FLTRP has signed a memorandum of understanding with Pearson Education and Macmillan on “publishing Chinese for the world”. Together with Thomson Learning, FLTRP won the bid to publish Everyday Chinese, a project endorsed and sponsored by the Ministry of Education. Me and China, a coursebook for Chinese heritage students, is a joint venture with McGraw-Hill. Many other independently published FLTRP titles, such as The World of Chinese, New Century Business Chinese series and Business for Managers series, have been licensed to a number of countries, including Korea, Japan and the United States.
FLTRP is not content to remain a traditional publishing house. It aims at transforming into an educational service provider. In addition to printed textbooks, FLTRP provides both online and offline training and consultation. Everyday Chinese is a handy example. It has a website www.hanyu900.com, which provides a myriad of information on and connections to China, including tutorial assistance from FLTRP and online lectures on traditional Chinese culture presented by Chinese and foreign experts.
外研社于2003年建立汉语出版事业部,现在拥有一个以三十多名博士、硕士为主体的编辑队伍。三年来,外研社已经推出了《现代汉语规范词典》 , 《新编大学语文》 , 《经理人汉语》 , 《汉语世界》等重大项目,“走出去”的产品已经形成了一定规模。
外研社在“走出去”战略上,同样重视与海外出版机构的合作,通过国际合作进入海外主流销售渠道。主要合作方式有三种: 一是战略合作,如2005年法兰克福国际书展期间,外研社与培生教育出版集团、麦克米伦出版集团签定了合作框架协议,计划建立合资公司,推动中国内容的出版物走向世界;二是项目合作,如2006年外研社与汤姆森教育集团合作,面向国际市场推出《汉语900句》,与麦格劳-希尔出版公司合作,在美国推出华裔大学汉语教程《我和中国》;三是版权合作。如《经理人汉语》、《汉语世界》、《现代汉语规范词典》等产品,其版权已经成功销售至美国、马来西亚、韩国等国家和地区。上述的《汉语900句》,便期待着在今后一两年内实现10-20个语种的全球授权。该项目在刚刚结束的北京书展上首发,引起了广泛的关注,日、韩、德、法、俄、西、葡等国家(语种),都有出版商、销售商积极商谈翻译、版权引进或代理销售事宜。
今后,外研社的目标将不仅是做一个传统意义上的出版商,而是发展成一个集出版、培训、网络咨询等功能的综合性服务平台。未来的教育市场日趋个性化,外研社的汉语出版与推广也将是一个全方位、立体化的开放体系,其落脚点最终是面对汉语学习人群的终身服务体系。 |
